Ed’s Gaming Resource for the Internet |
|
Last updated 28th January, 2004 - Site overhaul and reorganization into sections for quicker loading in progress. Still using the current format to put up new items. |
THE PLAN:
Here you'll find the new Japanese Mega Drive page: this page is going to be retired soon. I'm working from the bottom up (instead of from the top, i.e. this page, down), but it's nice to have the content first. There's some other fun stuff (such as two slides showing screenshots of The Legend of Zelda 64 [sic] (Temporary) for the Ultra 64, circa 1995) but I'm working the page layout first.
If you have any comments on the site design, you know where to contact me.
Here are a few good links. The Retrogaming Roundtable will have the Last
List of Links you'll ever need for gaming, and anything it doesn't cover will
be covered in the Forum there...seriously.

Items in this list are organized by manufacturer and then further organized by type (promotional items, magazine ads, and licensed products before other pictures) and system release date.

Sticker Game Boy (licensed cereal premium distributed by Kellogg’s c.1995; I received mine loose as you see here—not found in a box—at the Binder Park Zoo’s “Zoo Boo” in 1995 (I live in Battle Creek) Cheesy? Oh yes. Rare? Probably not. There are stickers on the other side of the sticker strip as well; far as I can tell there’s a classic Link from Zelda 2 on there and some other characters. |

Unknown x68K series
machine picture a According to the seller it was—er, still is—an
“x68K ACE” machine, but according to different (Japanese and English)
websites, it looks like the x68K Expert, since the Sharp logo on the
case isn't in red (and the Ace computers were beige in color). If it
helps, this is model CZ-603D (you’re more likely to find stuff in a
web search using that model number). However I will eventually be able
to answer this as everything pictured I will be able to inspect eventually!
Check back later. The single tower to the right of the actual computer
is an “RGB System Tuner CZ-6TV,” the joystick is a “Cyber Stick,” and
not pictured is a “Sound Pro 68K.” |

Game boxes |
|
|
Various types of game box exist, some apparently somewhat like Neo Geo or maybe plastic snap-shut Genesis cases, others (like Gradius 2 Gofer and Akumajo Dracula) have a sleeve which slides over an internal box (in the case of Akumajo Dracula, a plastic case with a clear window for a door which swings upwards) |

CD-i 370 portable system and games This portable is Digital Video compatible right out of the box and can output PAL as well as NTSC format, and is comparable to a Sega Saturn in size (when folded up) though it is ligher. It has a very nice screen but tends to get hot on the underside within an hour or two of use. This particular unit was manufactured in mid-1996. Over time it has developed a problem where it sometimes doesn’t load sounds in Hotel Mario, and crashes in The 7th Guest past the basement maze (CD-ROM drive probably going a bit iffy). This picture is from the original auction. |
